Austin, Texas - based metal act Venustra released their new single
"May, I". It's an Alternative Metal track that makes use of hard and
thrashy elements and somber tones that leans into the tension and releases it
into a cathartic whirlwind of chaos.Influenced by Dir en Grey,
Venustra has a hard and driving sound but also extremely cinematic in
its stake in music. Vastly different from other modern metal bands in the
industry, the music is very nineties-centric with a slight goth, thrash, and
punk bent. The main inspiration of "May, I" was a 2002 film "MAY"
starring Angela Bettis that saw the psychological and emotional breakdown of
the main character whose mission was to kill anyone who betrayed her and used
their body parts to stitch together a new friend of her own.
