Title: Stethoscope
Style: Indie Rock, Shoegaze
Year: 2026
Interlaken return with “Stethoscope,” a striking single that turns quiet tension into full emotional force. Its arrangement develops with patience, moving from restrained guitar tones and intimate vocals toward dense drums, layered distortion, and powerful climaxes. The band handles each transition with care, so the track stays clear even at its loudest.
Jake Murray’s production gives every part room to speak, while Katie Tavini’s mastering adds weight without crushing the detail. The vocals are fragile yet confident, carrying the song’s tension with honest feeling rather than overstatement. The lyrics suggest grief, anxiety, and the search for signs of hope beneath emotional pressure. The title adds a strong sense of close listening and inner examination.
As a first taste of the coming EP, “Stethoscope” is focused, ambitious, and deeply rewarding. It announces Interlaken as a band with vision, control, and genuine emotional power from the outset.
