After the acclaimed 2015 release “Wardens of the West Wind”, Wind Rose are now back with their third studio album: another epic chapter made of stories from either the fantasy and the real world, sounding like a hymn sung by the eternal and all-seeing stones, a “Stonehymn”.

Wind Rose were born in September 2009 when they played a show for the first time together at an open-air festival in Germany. Long time friends Claudio Falconcini, Federico Meranda and Daniele Visconti previously played in a progressive/power metal cover band, then they started composing their own music at the age of 18 in early 2009. Later they met Francesco Cavalieri and Cristiano Bertocchi and the band's first lineup was complete.

The first studio album “Shadows over Lothadruin” was released in 2012 through Bakerteam Records. The debut album brought them across Europe supporting Wintersun and Finntroll in 2013 and Epica in 2014. The sophomore album “Wardens of the West Wind” was released in 2015 via Scarlet Records.  This album had a more powerful feeling than the first one and made Wind Rose be mainly known for the song “The Breed of Durin”, inspired to the legendary “Dwarves” from the imaginary world of J.R.R. Tolkien. In 2015 the band got their first real European touring experiences: with Eluveitie and Skälmold in February 2015 and with Ensiferum in October 2015. The band also performed at many known summer festivals such as Metalhead Meeting in Romania, Made of Metal in Czech Republic and Ragnarök in Germany.

Wind Rose’s career will now turn the page to its third chapter, with the release of “Stonehymn” through the Swedish label Inner Wound Recordings.

"Stonehymn" is the result of a two years long songwriting work in which the band successfully tried to emphasize the most appreciated aspects of their previous release, such as the powerful choral parts, epic orchestrations and fierce downtuned riffs. With “Stonehymn” the band slightly moved to a more "folk feeling": they gave more space to fast sections and to ethnic/pagan instruments.

Evocative atmospheres, inspiring lyrics and two instrumental intros will easily bring the listeners imagination mainly to two different kinds of settings: to the Wild Western prairies with stories and beliefs about the Native American people and the legendary cowboys, and to Middle-Earth, where the “Dwarves” are still willing to regain the throne of their “golden halls”. There will also be some nice musical references to the “spaghetti-western” movies soundtracks, as the band has been inspired by the mythical Italian composer Ennio Morricone.

“Stonehymn” is a very powerful album filled with impressive songwriting and arrangements, epic choirs and excellent musicianship. The album was mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni [DGM, Ancient Bards, Secret Sphere] and the artwork was created by Jan Yrlund [Apocalyptica, Korpiklaani, Tyr].
