After Rishi Sunak’s comments late last year regarding the creative
industry, YNES (pronounced Yin-es) uploaded a 30 second jingle to her
social media titled Better Jobs, that gained 8k views and an
interview on BBC. During the Lockdown 3 she spend a lot of time to write and
record a full track Better Job, which has just been released.
Lyrically is insired by the DIY post-punk scene in North America and also by
Zuzu and Lauran Hibberd. Her music is influenced by a multitude of sources
from 80's synth to the 90's slack and brings us an
eclectic yet honest
sound.
YNES says about the song: "I know so many people who are feeling dejected and hopeless at the future of the arts, and I really believe that we need to stay passionate - together. I don’t see myself as an activist or a leader in any way, but by putting this out there I hope to inspire someone out there to stay angry and keep fighting."
In two words: Very Recommended !!!
