THE MACHINE KNOWS - Killer


Killer is the debut single by newly started Danish power-trio THE MACHINE KNOWS. The song is built on the rocking foundation of a cheeky shuffle beat, pounding bass, ferocious guitars and a grim tale of being betrayed by the ones closest to you. It’s Modern Rock with one foot steeped in tradition, the other on the speeder, the eyes narrowed in on the horizon, and a heart reckless in honesty. It is a manifestation of the group members deep love to the rock-genre and it shamelessly carries its inspirations on its sleeves. It tips its big hat to both the British and American mastodonts of the genre, while their wise teachings are filtered through the sense of lived life.

“It all began with one single note in the rehearsal space. Sometimes that’s all it takes. Suddenly you hear something new in the old familiar, and the song quickly grew to become somewhat of a monster with its own intentions. Originally the lyrics where inspired by a YouTube-series on the lives of Roman emperors - what a handful those guys were! - but the personal crept in and transformed the song to something more akin to the personality of the band,” says Kristoffer Veirum (vocals/guitar).

GABRIEL - Fall Apart


Fall Apart is the follow-up to GABRIEL’s debut single, What A Shame. This song is about finding our inner strength to overcome the things in life that could easily break us, if we let it. From the beginning you are struck by the booming guitar of Gabriel Metzger. The song breaks down allowing the tormented emotion of Phil Walker’s vocals to come through. Heavy riffs build again and the song resolves with a guitar solo clashing with the dissonant rhythm guitar that shows the conflicting emotions within us all. Fall Apart gives listeners permission to bend, without breaking.


GABRIEL is a new rock band founded by 17 year old guitarist Gabriel Metzger. Gabriel started the development of this project shortly before the Covid lockdowns began. Instead of putting things on hold he decided to push forward and make the best of the situation.

Electric High - Trembling Bones


After putting out a five track EP named Go Easy On My Heart six weeks ago, Norwegian rockers Electric High are on it again, with another new track called Trembling Bones. This explosive piece of rock came together down after a hard night out, during a heavy hangover. The band says about it : "Singer PV Staff and guitarist Marius Mørch woke up, equally devestated by last night’s escapades, each with an idea for a new song. One called up the other, and two songs turned into one, about the way they felt when they woke up that day – with pounding headaches, death-breaths, stomachs turning, vague memories of what happened the night before, and – trembling bones."


The track was recorded at Solslottet Studios, in Bergen, Norway, produced by Iver Sandøy. The percussive intro illustrates the shaky state the songwriters were in while they conceived this song. And the «situation growing on my mind» is nothing but the escalating headaches and the paranoia of the foregoing night’s blurry events. The relentless stomp of the pounding chorus only amplifies the gut-wrenching feeling, followed by a brief moment of relief, before throwing you back into the claustrophobic vibe and another pounding chorus of «Trembling Bones».

Dull of Down - Praise & Play Rock`n Roll


Dull of Down (also called D.O.D.) are an Finnish rock band formed in Lappeenranta in 2020 by old friends Lasse Hyytinen and Marko Heikkilä. Heidi Saarelainen joined the band at the same time as a bassist. Their music has been variously described as hard rock, blues rock and grunge rock, but the band themselves call it simply “rock and roll”.

Respecting the traditions, the band once again released a double track single. The pair of songs now released is the band's third release in a row. As the name of the single suggests (Praise & Play Rock`n Roll), Dull of Down's new double is the perfect mood for anyone who loves the real rock music.

MuddiBrooke - Straight Jacket


Straight Jacket is the brand new single by UK-based rock band MuddiBrooke. MuddiBrooke are a new, all-girl, Alt-Rock/Grunge trio, consisting of Brooke, Anna and Mary. They are all in their 20s; and even though they haven't been playing long as 'MuddiBrooke', collectively they have 30 years experience of playing live in front of many large audiences and supported bands such as The Beautiful South, Scouting For Girls, Dr and The Medics and more.

Since getting together in January 2020, they have released two singles, which have already achieved airplay on Kerrang! Radio, made 'Track Of The Week' on BBC Introducing and even made it into the Top 10 of the Greek Rock Charts for four continuous weeks - as well as many other radio stations around the world such as Canada, United States, Singapore, Spain, Sweden and many more.
Looking to the future, MuddiBrooke plan to release their Debut EP, ‘LUNACY’, in Summer 2021 and are currently building a UK Tour and Holland/Germany Tour.


Brooke says about the track : “Straight Jacket came from the fact that, like a lot of people, us three all suffer from anxiety. For me, the effects from it can be so strong that it can cause me to have ‘derealisation’ or ‘depersonalisation’; this is a certain form of panic attack when it feels as though reality is slipping away and nothing is real. It can be very disorientating. I wanted to capture this feeling within a track, and so Straight Jacket was created.
You’d think our anxieties would affect our performance on stage but it often has the opposite effect where we all feel completely comfortable and ‘at home’.”

H A Z E - Skin

Singer songwriter H A Z E (aka Hazel Smith) is back with a brand new, third single, Skin. Taking a wild turn for a darker, heavier sound, Skin is an exacerbated depiction of deep instincts at their worst, diving into the darker corners of a troubled mind. The song follows the seemingly schizophrenic theme of Split - the Shyamalan movie - telling the story through an evil twin’s point of view as it takes control to live out one’s most unspeakable fantasies. 


Drawing inspiration from the darkness of 80s synthpop band Depeche Mode, 90s industrial rock Nine Inch Nails and newly anointed darkpop queen Billie Eilish, H A Z E not only sets a somber atmosphere through her lyricism but also by using compositional twists such as the use of tritones and unexpected modulations, making for unusual chord progressions. Collaborator and guitarist Jamal Aggoun once again worked on the arrangements for this song, along with producer Bob Matthews. Skin was mastered by engineer Dick Beetham at 360 Mastering.

In one word : Excellent !!!

Memphis Stone and The Elevators - Higher


Memphis Stone and The Elevators just released their third single Higher, an uplifting tale of being completely off your face on a mountain side watching the world go on around you and questioning your part in it all, and having major drug-induced revelations. It's a fast-paced and upbeat rock song – it features soaring guitars and Hammond organ over solid driving drums and bass capped off with soulful vocals. All wrapped up with what is turning out to be a trademark modern production of Matt Hay (who's worked with Robbie Williams and The Who).


From its first crashing chord, this track does what it says – it lifts you "Higher". Not in a celestial way, but in a "grab you by the balls", "you have no choice” way. It has a "turn this one up” and “bang out the drum on the steering wheel" sound that'll make you run faster, sing louder and wake up that little bit of your soul that didn't hear the alarm clock this morning.

Its influences are diverse with hints of British new wave & 70s rock – think The Ruts meets The Killers meets Blink 182, with a hint of Tom Jones and Georgie Fame thrown in for good measure.

Bladderwrack - Troll

Bladderwrack are trolling us with their newest single Troll. Bladderwrack play uncompromising songs in an uncompromising way, about things that uncompromisingly piss them off. Two people, two instruments, visceral noises and unflinching lyrics. The band says that they "wrote and recorded the song and video for Troll remotely in lockdown as a response to reports of troll farms run by Putin to impact political decisions in the UK and US, Trump’s rampant trolling of anything and everything that doesn’t fit his agenda, and trolling of our own music on Facebook etc by various gammons and other idiots."


Bladderwrack is a 2-man rant rock band from Penge playing protest music in its purest form. They were formed as a reaction to the repellent events and specimens dominating the headlines and media, and each 2-minute song is a tirade directed at a deserving muse. Bladderwrack features a Victorian undertaker playing a battered 12-string acoustic guitar through an ancient bass amp via a concoction of abusive pedals, and bellowing furiously through an overdriven microphone. Providing the thunderous backbone to this murderous noise is a gravedigger who howls ferociously while punishing his drum kit.

Nine Lives - Cutthroat Friends


Cardiff based band Nine Lives just released their debut single Cutthroat Friends. This is garage rock, but not as you know it. Listen for relentless riffs and hard hitting drums contrasted by ghostly leads that carry the sounds into a whole other dimension.The overall sound suggests influences from early Queens of the Stone Age records, with a main riff that brings to mind bands such as Fu Manchu and Turbowolf.


Drummer Hero Fancett and guitarist/frontman Topher Hughes have been working hard on this project for almost two-years! They describe themselves as a 'power duo posing as a power trio' after repeated difficulties with their line up lead to the decision to continue as a two-piece. For live performances the band uses a complex array of effects and amplifiers to emulate the sound of synths, bass guitars and even a second guitarist all playing simultaneously.

In one word : Excellent !!!

THS - New Reality


New Reality is one of the latest singles by New York rockers THS. This is a classic rock song with a very smart guitar riff, great rhythm section and expressive vocals. Its simple melody is so addictive, that sticks into your mind with just a few times listening. But what is the lyrics about ? The band says about them : "Imagine if you will everyday being a bad day, nothing goes your way, ever, being a kid sucks, being an adult sucks, how long before it takes you over the edge and into the realm of violence.."

Atomic Bronco - Cruel


Atomic Bronco released their first new music of 2021, dropping the single Cruel on April 20th, a punchy, lo-fi indie rock tune, which is the first song off the upcoming Spectrum EP, due out June 1st. Cruel provides an instant vibe right from the start with a catchy acoustic riff and vocals dripping with swagger before erupting into an almost grungy chorus full of attitude and finishing with a fuzzed-out guitar solo. The song provides a great introduction and offers an intriguing insight of what to expect next from Atomic Bronco.


Atomic Bronco is a retro-inspired yet decidedly modern indie/alt rock act from London. The creation of producer and songwriter Kyle Nuss, Atomic Bronco blends an interesting mix of indie, alternative, garage rock, lo-fi and classic rock. The one-man rock band is originally from the heart of rural America, but now makes guitar driven music in his East London studio.

Ragdoll - Rise


Rise is the brand new single by UK rockers Ragdoll. Ragdoll was formed in Northampton UK in the late 80's by brothers Dave and Wayne Cox. The band played a mix of original and covers on a local and national level until the mid 90's when the members began moving to different countries. During the intervening years, guitarist Dec Burke having released 10 studio albums both solo and with named prog acts. Drummer Wayne Cox worked as a session player. including a top five single in Ireland. Bass player/vocalist Paul Hird moved to California, where he appeared in award winning short films and is currently mixing and mastering for artists worldwide. Keyboard player/vocalist David Cox also moved to Ireland where he has starred in numerous musicals. The band reconnected during the Covid lockdown and began writing and recording new material from three countries.


Rise is a classic rock song , with masterful guitar playing and catchy rhythm.You can recognize influence from bands like The Who, Free, Rush, Journey, Van Halen,Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. It's a song about the collective power of people stand up against injustice and prejudice in the world by peaceful means.
