Welfare Lady is the new single by Irish indie rock band The Left Backs, who are based in Liverpool. The song is a blistering punk influenced banger with snarling vocals, a shredding guitar solo, a relentless rhythm section and uncontrollable fits of headbanging, told from the perspective of a hedonistic waster who finds unlikely love in a likeminded lady at the job centre. 

Inspired by The Strokes and The Beatles, The Left Backs combine hook-heavy guitar parts with catchy upbeat choruses to create their own hard-hitting take on indie rock, a classic sound with a modern twist.
